En estas fechas se ha escuchado mucho sobre una Mérida Cultural, donde se promueva y difunda el desarrollo de la cultura y las artes.
Mérida siempre ha sido cultural, en esta ciudad no existe una familia que no tenga un integrante que esté apasionado por la música, la danza, las artes visuales, las letras, siempre hay "un artista en la familia" y por eso siempre hay actividades acerca de las artes, lo que ahora pasa es que ante el mayor número de egresados de éstas carreras las autoridades se están viendo en la necesidad de abrir más espacios, claro está tratando de ganar adeptos, pero lo importante es que se aproveche esta inercia y no se abandone a su suerte.
